Thanks to Barbera for doing this. I'm going to email all the librarians I know about this. Also, a way to help the publicity along is to hit Google and Yahoo, etc, with the title of the book. The more people request info the more google & co sends their little crawlers into webpages looking for the info. Talk it up.

Hi, no I never pray. I would feel a hypocrite for doing so. I don't know whether anyone is there. I prayed to escape my abusive husband, and I ended up doing it myself. Praying about it didn't give the motivation to leave, the motivation I got from elsewhere.
I don't think about God. I plan for tomorrow, I think about today. I remember the good things about the past. I enjoy life, but if I died tomorrow I wouldn't care about what happened to me.

i'm using a public terminal at our bitty little old hometown library because i've lost my in-home connection.. the wife of the po of my old congregation works here, and she gave me the strangest look imaginable when i walked in.
right after i registered and took my place, a sweet little auxiliary pioneer came in and sat right across from me!.

"Librarians are the worst snoops imaginable" How do you figure that? Speaking as a librarian I would say, don't judge a book by it's cover! The worst snoops imaginable are postal workers. How do I know this? I used to be one. You could tell most of the time what was in the envelope - bills, letters, etc. I used to love reading the postcards! American librarians are to be applauded. They are arguing with their Government over privacy issues at the moment. Under the Patriot Act the US Govt is demanding that libraries turn over records of items that library patrons borrow. This is in violation of a number of privacy laws. In all the libraries I have worked in there is no record kept of what people borrow. i remember having to dress up for every meeting even the ones during the week.
i had to wear a botton down shirt dress pants, a tie, dress shoes, dress socks and a blazer.
this was also required by my parents to dress up when going door to door.
Wow, big flashback moment, this topic! Yes, pantyhose for me, even in Queensland's hot summers. My ex used to wear a safari suit with short sleeves but long pants (it was the 70s). Even recently I got a shock when a friend told me that she went to church in shorts. My jaw must have hit the floor. She said to me, "well, God doesn't care what you wear". I couldn't believe it. i mean, i must have gotten like 50 sympathy cards in the mail from her worldly relatives and co-workers, as well as numerous phone calls, but not one witness has done anything!
Wingcommander, sorry for your loss. One thing that I remembered when reading your post was in Steve Hassan's book. He said that one definition of a cult is that they never have seriously ill or disabled people in a cult. You're supposed to look after the cult, the cult will never look after you. Hi again. I have told her to back off and we didn't see her for 6 weeks. This women doesn't know the word "moderation". And she is completely dense! My other half isn't doing repairs, regular or the other kind, he's putting up shelves, or looking at her car, etc. She doesn't come here when I'm not here, I've pointed out the comparison, would he like it if I went to a male neighbour's place for coffee.
